OnlineFree.app Review: 105 Free Tools in Your Browser

A few weeks ago we reviewed FreeOnline.fyi, a self-built collection of browser tools with unusually good regional calculators — and gave it 4 out of 5, docking a point for a thin catalogue. That critique just aged out: the suite has moved to a new home, OnlineFree.app, and it now counts 105 tools, up from 69. We went back in to see what changed.

The move: same suite, new address

OnlineFree.app is the new home of the FreeOnline tools suite — same “Useful Tools. A Simpler Internet” tagline, same five-category layout (calculators, converters, generators, formatters, plus a “more tools” shelf), same client-side philosophy. The branding still reads FreeOnline.fyi in places, which tells you the migration is fresh. At the time of writing both addresses serve the site; the new one is the address to bookmark, and as a bonus the .app top-level domain enforces HTTPS by design — a fitting home for a privacy-first toolkit.

What’s new among the 105 tools

Thirty-six new tools is a serious month of building, and the new arrivals lean practical with a streak of playfulness. Highlights from the current catalogue:

• Favicon and app-icon generator — the fiddly little job every new site dreads, solved.
• WebM to MP4 converter and an images-to-PDF converter — the two “why is this awkward everywhere else” conversions.
• CSS gradient generator and a meta description generator — small web-dev helpers that belong in every bookmark bar.
• D&D name generator and a photo-to-maze generator — the playful shelf expanding on schedule.
• A free unit converter and word/character counter rounding out the everyday essentials.

The classics from our first review are all still there: the India GST and Alinma mortgage calculators, the Morocco end-of-service calculator, the 401(k) projector, the receipt maker, the background remover — regional depth and all.

What didn’t change (the good parts)

The three things that earned the suite its original recommendation are intact on the new domain: everything runs client-side (nothing uploaded, nothing stored), no accounts anywhere, and the regional, multilingual coverage — EN, FR, DE, AR language tags and locale-specific calculators for the US, UK, India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco and France — remains the feature no competitor copies. The honest caveats from round one also carry over: there’s still no editorial layer of ratings or “best for” guidance, and discovery leans on the search box.

Does it score higher now?

Yes — by a notch. The catalogue-depth criticism was our main deduction last time, and 105 tools spread across three pages directly answers it. What would take the suite to a full five: ratings or curated collections on top of the raw feed. Until then: 4.5 out of 5, and a standing bookmark.
